Unfortunately MrGordon, you deny that Jesus came in the flesh.
----------
Your wrong Tonio. That's not something I have ever said. Greek philosophy, including early Gnosticism held the view that all material things were evil, including the fleshly body. It was likely to counter this reasoning John was inspired to write: " Every inspired statement that acknowledges Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh originates with God ". - 1 John 4:2.
John later raises the question: Who can conquer the world? Is it not the one who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God? - 1 John 5:5
This excludes those that would argue Jesus is God and that during his time on earth he was a God-Man or God incarnate rather than being God's Son, ( the Word ), who became flesh.
