Also Harvey,
If you actually took some time to study Buddhism rather than anti-Buddhist propaganda dispensed by fundamentalist organisations, which is centred on Tibetan culture and its pantheon of gods and angels that enslaved and stupified the masses in the same way Christianity often did, you, if you dared to, might find all Christian values about 'freedom' or 'unconditional love' are more strongly established and more clearly defined in the teachings of Buddha, which existed hundreds of years before Christ. In fact, Buddha held the true spirit of freedom in accepting all people, all classes, religions and non-religions and never encouraging blind faith (however, in his society of followers, there was no class or caste).
Regarding any influence that is uniquely Christian, basically that is only one, which is YOU (not me) are saved by the blood of Christ.
However, regarding values such as non-prejudice, non-hatred, tolerance, secularism, infinite love and compassion and most of all DEMOCRACY, these were perfectly expounded by the Enlightened One.
