Many didnt believe (and some continue to disbelieve) in the theory of gravity, the theory that the earth revolves around the sun, relativity etc etc. I believe we must live to question evrything, and should not accept anything we are told without question. Science is the business of asking questions and establishing the truth through rigorous research and review, without an agenda. Evryones own view on god has a lot to do with the choice you make (or the choice made for you by your parents/friends/teachers) in how you do your own research in your own limited time on this flat earth I suppose.
