"conventional" reality is something Buddha taught. it is the sphere of names, labels & gestalt perception of wholes

for example, when I ask: "pass the salt, please", this is a conventional reality because it is a functional reality understood by each of us

or if I say: "HC Sarco post 3998773", these conventional realities are understood as referring to particular objects, namely, 'HC', "Sarco' and "post" (rather than other objects, such as DDZx)

anyway...the teachings attributed to Buddha on the level of morality explain: "person or being (satta) X makes P karma & as a result of that karma (action) reappears or is reborn is the state of Q"

it is about the results of karma

no need to reinvent the wheel

as killing leads to hell, such as the PTSD ex-soldiers experience, Buddha would have been a silly teacher explaining this hellish result (such as suicidal thoughts) is experienced post-mortem rather than post-karma

it is not bad karma to be a Christian or Hindu but it is bad karma to slander Buddha

    regards
