The fact remains house prices were going crazy at the end of last year, they should have put on the brakes then, not near 12 months down the track. They could have started with 20 basis points last year with successive smaller rises and that may have been enough discouragement. Now they go to an extreme based on past rises to curtail inflation and recession.
