in WA, at least, what caused the high prices that are killing them was the LOW interest rates a few years back, coupled with plentiful spare cash from our booming economy......couples could afford $600,000 mortgages and to buy above market value to get what they wanted.
if the RBA had jacked up rates a bit 3 years back, this situation wouldnt be as bad.
