A chinese born relative of mine who returns to China periodically talks of the huge gulf between urban and rural life - and how the country peasants are fully aware of their dire circumstances. All this points towards increasing domestic tensions.
Commentators who look at China as a significant global player neglect to mention that their total economic worth has been estimated as less than Australia.
