watso, I don't know what came over me but I just sent a letter to The Australian (on line) answering Mike Teneke's article, in which I said the following:

"I can't hear John Howard's voice any more; only the noise of his political throat which sounds more like death rattles every day. How awfully they compare with the sounds of righteous jubiliation when he first won Government and later, after the last election, when he was given the scepter of dictatorship and the Senate chamber!
He is a brilliant paradigm for the aphorism, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely!" Everything he touched, everything he handled he has destroyed. Let him touch or handle nothing more!"

I feel... kinda funny!
