    My guess would be RBA bargains with the current government

    "We will reduce rates"

    But only if you back us on macro-prudential controls on the banks lending

    Difference between Australia and the US is that the central bank has a lot more control over most of the lending in Australia given our financial institutions are very limited and a protected species and thus have a lot more oversight of their operations in terms of macro-prudential control implementation
