Re car industry
I am not against the government putting money into big enterprises but it has to be for a share of the company not a gift

The government is just a big business but it acts like a free bank for the big boys, all the money to the renewable industry for nil return

If industry is not willing to put it's money where it's mouth is then they should go away, go to another country and see if they can get free money there

It is always said about Australia that we have to do what other countries do --- why
Australia has always been significantly different with it's own advantages and disadvantages

WE have
Some of the best mines in the world (product)
Some of the best agricultural land
An educated population
Some of the best brains
A good temperate climate
Only sea borders

All this is changing but we could still recover
Shut the borders.
Cancel all the restrictive free trade agreements
Certainly we would have to forgo the pleasure of cheap toys, toys which we can do without until we can either make them or buy them again

Australia first -- our near neighbors next and the rest of the world can look after themselves
