not sure having brokers "onside" is such a small thing. I am invested in another company on the ASX that cannot even gain access to a broking house to present there company. They don't need money so noone is interested. Thats OK unless you need exposure. Egn will need this in spades as it has changed its name, location (Perth to Melbourne) and management team.
Being able to grandstand the company is very important especially as it turns arround as EGN is doing.
I can live without a btoker but most listed companies have to have one.
