    Bunbun,

Thanks very much for that. The vet has already told us we'll probably have issues with his teeth as he will now be on a soft food diet, but she explained, that can easily be fixed with a trip to the vet and a dental clean. I asked if I could give him the occasional chicken wing to gnaw on, to which she replied no. He's on S/D at the moment - which will be good for three months, after which time the struvite crystals will have gone, and then more than likely he will be switched to C/D which is available tinned or dried.

I really appreciate your comments Bunbun, thanks very much. For others who don't know, the symptoms were lots of urine puddles, with a pinkish tinge (i.e. blood), and lots of licking in the nether region. Apparently male cats are very susceptible to struvite crystals in the bladder, and neutered males even more so.

    Cheers,
    Tangrams
