The author is Simon Hackett who is Founder and MD of Internode in the east. It puts an interesting slant on any discussion surrounding the implications of the NBN, or any other government telco policy, for that matter, when the author heads up one of the larger telco groups in Australia yet doesn't disclose that fact explicitly (from what I saw).
