Great to see comment from a scientific point of view. Actually there is a plant called mucuna pruriens that is a natural source of dopamine that grows easily in tropical and subtropical climates. It's a bean and interestingly enough it's external surfaces are covered in fine hairs emitting serotonin. I'd think it's cheaper than sea animals but I'd think extraction of the active ingredients is still not that cheap.
