Yes.

Like all revolutions though, once the victory is won, the fighters need to get out of the way & let others take the reins.

It'll be the actual majors who will put us in a catapult to the moon, not a company which will see a true SP collapse once they hit difficulties or the shine just wears off- no dividends, a company worth more than Ford yet producing less cars than god knows- some Indian brand none of us have ever heard of?

There's only way that can end.

The fallout will be a lot of burnt rich people, a lot of angry people in congress & a lot of gun shy small investors.

Still- as long as Elon can waltz about pretending he invented the wheel, water and fire, bail out his brother in law? with investor's money & be lauded as some kind of saviour?

Yep - Tesla is a big fish in a very small pond - North America. And the predominance of the Norte Americanos on the internet means it gets a disproportionate amount of exposure.

I am more than happy to see Tesla succeed, but I will be happier if they did so against actual head-to-head competition.

There was a point made at the Benchmark Minerals Lithium Roadshow - at the moment a western can manufacturer who has a model with an ICE option or a BEV option has about a $20k difference in price. In China that difference is $2k.

When any western manufacturer gets serious and gets their margins down to $2k, they will win. I appreciate what Musk has done so far, but he has a long way to go and I get frustrated at lazy media who spout the idea that the whole lithium revolution is entirely a Tesla thing.
