The plan for Iraq. The plan for Afghanistan. The plan for Vietnam. Korea. All great.
So easy to start involvement in a war. Not so easy to get out when SHTF and there is no stability on the ground, just continual upheaval due to terrorist attacks.
Also killing off the heads of radical organisations only fuels their anger and creates new recruits. It's like the multi headed hydra, you cut off one head and another grows. Failure to understand the political and tribal dimensions is a classic American mistake.
