if you are asking me about REE chloride I have no idea. Have not heard much discussion on it, I hear about new processes fairly frequently. Almost as much as new batteries that will revolutionize the EM industry. Some will be a success most will just fade away with time. Some will be much better than the old SX process. Which one will dominate i am not sure.

The SX process is very simple. Dissolve in solvent, specific to you want to obtain, Filter. Repeat until you achieve the purity you want.
About 60 years ago When I was in high school I work in a Dye factory as a welders assistant, All steel kept rotting from acid fumes. The basic SX process was the same as to day. Granted they do not let the tanks vent into air and spill on ground. Today they monitor what is going on and move Valves from control rooms. They control much more tightly increasing purity and lowering cost. But it still the same process. I am still amazed i have not devolved Cancer from what I was exposed to. When it was shut down it became a super fund waste site because of how bad they ruined the locale environment, and killed many people

Here is an old and a recent article on the site if you want to know more. 60 years and it is still a problem site

Nyanza | Hazardous Waste | Damage Assessment, Remediation, and Restoration Program

Ashland, Massachusetts Superfund site getting new investment from EPA, decades later

Not happy memories. You made me think of what went on there and how SX works. Thanks
