I also have an idea, from the other side, that the first TX app will be SEG separation. Samarium is all about military SmCo-based magnets; mission critical coercivity and temp performance. Europium is used in DOD sensors and vision via phosphors; gadolinium is highly versatile with one app being nuclear materials tracking (super high cross-section for gamma) as well as being a high-quality stand-in for Dy or Tb doping in high performance heavy-duty magnets.
Just a WAG, but commissioning of such a circuit would be a very useful ex-China add-on for Lynas, a poof-of-principle for both science and engineering in ex-Australia, and a huge boost to free world defense industry which China is continuing to hammer on.
