Well no, Rotuma, it didn’t look like the QAD buyer WAS about yesterday. On the other hand, not a bad idea, if you are a genuine large buyer shaking the tree, to set up an expectation then deliberately disappoint.

Mind you, when I come to say that aloud, it sounds a bit fanciful! (It puts me in mind of Karl Popper’s dismissive description of psychoanalytic theories as “pseudo-” or “non-science”. Freud, he said, could explain equally well both why a suicidal patient does, in fact, leap from a precipice, or why he doesn’t – but as to PREDICTING the outcome, Freud had no greater success than a toss of the coin! Millennialist religions share this characteristic, that no matter what the actual outcome – eg, Armageddon doesn’t arrive as predicted on Pancake Tuesday - the theory always has some exotic, post hoc ‘out’ clause – ah, yes, but it's a leap year, it was raining and we should all have been passing the holy tea-bag in a COUNTER-clockwise direction!)

In the end I don’t think it matters when the buyer re-enters the market. The fact is there IS a large buyer out there tightening up the stock. I am consoled, too, by the certain knowledge that the QAD assets are performing well and that in a better market climate, this will be reflected in the share price.
