Beau ..................... oil companies are using old oil tankers then refiting them as a FPOS, I seem to remember at Jubilee they used 2 and stitched them together, problem with using one designed and built for another field is they are design for a specific field to handle that fields specific production so maybe using one that has been decommissioned wouldn't be to easy.

Also think the JV will want the FPOS built to handle any future field development ie as Ya stated, and I agree, the JV will probably develop SNE first but if the JV believes FAN will be commercial (the JV have already stated that it probably will be) the JV will design the FPOS to handle the combined production, probably >120-150k bpd production ..................... I am going to be very interested to see how the JV proceeds as at Jubilee Tullow/Kosmos certainly proved how to develop a field very quickly and with subsequent less cash required.
