Interesting line of thought gsw - but I think this is less likely than the other two 'theories'.

Why?

Because the Jan dialogue and rescue work that ensued after the quality issue arose in December apparently 'solved' the problem - as reported in the Jan update.

(Unless, of course, the Jan update was a fabrication - ie the problem had not been resolved).

But presumably, with the MPS accepting a reduced field trial of 5,000 - and SiYi ordering these - they had accepted that the quality problem had been resolved.

So, if the 5,000 batch was also faulty, surely they would have been returned with a statement to that effect. Why the silence? Where that had not existed in Jan? So something else has happened in my view.

As well, surely JH, JK and co could not have been so stupid as to send them another faulty batch!
