I'm not sure this unsolicited email is normal and in my 30 years experience it is the first time I have received any correspondence about an individual stock.
What they are saying about price manipulation may be true. It is not uncommon for this to be a practice in some companies, either ramping prices up or down. However this will only last as long as the momentum is on the manipulators side. Given enough positive company information and of course the dollar gold price this cannot continue. That means the company should be more proactive with announcements which is sadly lacking. Companies that move are the ones are good on promotion!
On Hot copper many investors are lamenting the poor performance of developers and explorers. In the past during a bull run all stocks rise minnows and majors. This time appears to be different with many exploration companies at or near their lows.
Horizon has a massive amount of stock on issue so it is relatively easy to squash the price. Perhaps a consolidated share register is a good option.
In his defence I noticed today that Macquarie have been accused of not disclosing short sales.
