If you are filling the Individual form W8BEN, it is literally a 5 minute job. All you need to fill is the below items. W8BEN-E is the complicated form which is not for individuals but business entities, super funds, etc.

1. Your name and Address
2. HIN or SRN (found from your broker portal)
3. item 6b (FTIN not legally required) - Tick check box
4. Item 8 - Enter DoB
5. Item 9 - Enter Australia
6. In Part III Certification
- Tick the box to certify.
- Sign the form
- Capacity in which Acting - "Individual" if under Individual name
- Enter your phone number, Date and Name

That is all that you need to do.
