I had a look at the EVM website the other day and noted the following.
Image 1 - looks to have massive water tanks adjacent to the tower - the tower was supposed to be used without water (one of its main selling point I would assume for arid customers)

Image 2 - shows the annual report cover - oddly the report shows a photo of a PV array rather than a Computer generated graphic of what it could look like near or under an apron.

I wonder if there has been any thought to using the TOWER as a sort of hybrid heliostat power station - you could have mirrors at the edge of the apron or under the apron directing energy at the receptor that's attached to the tower. The heat dissipation of the molten fluid could be used to provide base load heat for the updraft tower at night.
