    Yeah deals take a long time.

    So a little story: I was involved in a deal (IT industry) where an organisation (a major NSW hospital) looked at our tech (software), evaluated our tech, went through "proper channels" (talking about government approval), started a trial, loved it, then went cold because someone in NSW Health IT thought they could do it cheaper and they tried to go it by themselves.

    Wasted 6 months and many man hours. Totally disheartened.

    Then nearly 2 years later, we get a phone call saying their internal development fizzled (wasted more money than our licensing for 2 years). They signed the contract on the spot and the rest is history.

    It was a piece of disruptive software technology in IT - that didn't have an equivalent in their budget but they could see how it could save lives yet couldn't fit it in their budget initially.

    Anyway, that's my personal understanding of introducing different ways to do things. It ain't a bed of roses to get it over the line, but once it happens, it's a sight to behold.
