I had another long friendly chat with Bevan Jaggard. There's a lot of very good news in the pipeline. Obviously he could not be very specific. Currently they are working on upgrading the resources into reserves. There's another heap of drilling results about to come out, similar to the last lot. They are still finding a lot of gold. He pointed out the difference between their results and other announced results in that they have gold in continuous adjacent holes whereas others tend to have gaps between them. That is CRK will have gold in holes 671,672,673,674,675 etc whilst others may have 672,682,685,693 etc.
I asked him about electricity versus diesel. They have electricity available and it will cost only about $60,000 to get it on. As we know diesel costs can be a killer for remote mines. They also have their own water and plenty of it.
He believes they will have a reserve of six million ounces and a resource of ten million ounces. Again he said the assay labs are stretched to the limit and grossly understaffed. For the first time he mentioned that Barrick might be interested. I had always thought it was obvious that Barrick would be interested as they are nearby and it would be a natural acquisition. How much would they pay for a six million reserve? I would guess between one hundred and three hundred dollars an ounce. That would between 4.80 and 14.40 a share. Any other views?
