A couple I've found interesting recently:

Bea Campbell is a radical journalist/commentator/activist, but I don't hold that against her because she is a smart person and can tell a story & paint a picture with words as well as anybody. She has in the past been a frequent guest on Phillip Adams ABC program.
Here on the ABC RN program Big Ideas she gives her account of the history of the Soviet Union, with particular emphasis on how the Russian people felt/suffered/were inspired whatever, and also how outsiders like her Communist parents felt through the successive changes. It's only about 30 minutes and I'm keeping it in my audio library to listen to it again.

Is the Spanish Civil War really over? You'd wonder listening to this. Some 110,000 Catalonians disappeared during the war. When they had some independence the Catalonian government embarked on a program of excavating mass graves, about 500 is the estimate, and also collecting DNA of remaining relatives of the disappeared for identification. There is a divided opinion on this process. Madrid is not happy. Some, not all, Catalonians think it is important though because they view the past as not over because the Fascists not only won but remain in control.

(PS I do this because: 1. I enjoy it 2. I think radio is an underestimated resource for information and 3. I hope it encourages a few more people to explore it)
