The problem is that many Investors play it short term and forget that pricing is normally done in stages:
As Phase II completes-say end of Jan 2004, one could expect a higher price. Again if the preliminary result comes out and is good, one expects a higher price still.
Also, if they get Accelerated Approval or better, another reason for a price rise. Announcement of a Commercial Partner in 2004 hopefully, will be another reason for a price rise.

A suitable drug for mass consumption can be very rewarding but traders are not really that interested because it takes time to get there.
On the other hand, Phase II only takes about 3 months and its results wil be pivotal.
