Interesting post from Motley Fool UK
"SENATOR Ross Lightfoot made only $4000 out of his sudden decision to dump shares in Woodside Petroleum, less than 24 hours before The Daily Telegraph published details of his oil-for-cash run to Iraq.
.....The exact timing of his investment is crucial because Woodside immediately boosted its share price on November 16, when the oil giant announced it had signed a deal with the Iraq Oil Ministry to explore deposits in the northern province of Kurdistan over the next two years.
.....But even in the midst of the crisis now threatening to shatter his career and further ruin his credibility, Senator Lightfoot couldn't resist a further dabble in the market. This week he picked up an unknown parcel of shares in Hardman Resources, an oil company which has been rumoured to begin drilling in Iraq in the near future."
