This is interesting but with respect, old news. The interviewer (BS, who seems to have achieved some infamy at least as far as a number of posts on HC are concerned) qualifies his questions with various assumptions (eg Genorah just arrived and told the B community what was going to happen etc) which are in dispute. I wouldn't give this interview a lot of credence in light of the way the questions are framed but IMO only.
What the DMR need to do is produce guidelines as to what constitutes appropriate consultation with 'communities'. As I read in another interview earlier, a quote attributed to the DG DMR said that most of these disputes are about chieftainship and that communities need to be careful not to scare off investment etc. Let's be realistic, investment drives employment within the communities and countries like SA with such social problems can hardly afford to discourage initiatives and investment that will go towards addressing such ills.
