I agree with you; the complexities of the financial system that has created the boom and now ironically created the bust will muddy the waters so much that it will be years until any sense can be made of it. It's foolish to believe that China can save the world, they won't be able to save themselves but (IMO) will be the first to recover. I think that we are at the extreme beginning of a very different world order. I can't make up my mind on where Australia will fit into all this - but we will probably have a small window of a great opportunity as we can comfortable straddle both the west and east due to our geographical location and great ethnic mix, that's without taking into account of our world class & vast natural resources to name a few. We could just as easily stuff it up too; it's up to the pollies so anything couuld happen
