Yea, I think it's more 6-10 months till we get a KNP partner.... but, I do envision one. Unfortunately, last estimate I saw had breakeven at circa US$8.60 per pound at US$ $0.70 (or 0.75?)...
Nickel is only http://www.metalprices.com/FreeSite/metals/nickelalloy/nickelalloy.asp $7.21, with massive, massive, massive inventory... Though, it can likely be improved as HRR didn't seem particularly happy with Vale's PFS... Perhaps $1 could be knocked off to $7.60 (though, that is a blind guess).
However, it was a very long life of mine... 32ish years, *IF*IRC.... so, as long as Nickel holds above $9 (and USD behaviours)... on AVERAGE over 32ish years, HRR is sweet :).
The NPV, IIRC, was something like $1Bn at NickelUS$11/pound... but, please don't quote me on this :)
