Current modalities of imaging are not as low tech as you make out. Although, obviously IBX represents a new frontier.
One thing I would like to point out is that for prostate cancer, I believe PMSA-PET scans are often used (although I’m not going to pretend to have an expert working knowledge on imaging techniques). I think our technology would replace PSMA-PET rather than MRI. Much like HER2 breast cancer, I think this would be used once a diagnosis has been established to look specifically for metastatic disease.
The utility of these scans as a screening test remains to be seen and depends on multiple factors. I wouldn’t jump the gun with that just yet. For instance, prostate cancer is not even screened for using MRI at the moment! I think the route to commercialisation will have a greater focus on detecting metastatic disease- an area in which this technology is virtually unparalleled.
