The gadolinium part of the equation is becoming scarier. US news talking about it with " if you were put through an MRI and have experienced effects see a doctor then a lawyer ". The FDA do say the benefits of a scan do out way these risks but have ordered the gadolinium product be tagged with warnings of possible retention of gadolinium in the body (the brain).
The announcement of the benefits of IBX precision nano iron oxide particles to MRI imaging seems more to do with the new portable MRI machines now developed. Only these use lot less teslas making their imaging a lot fuzzier than the images of their monster machine they normally use. They have said one way to solve this is to inject 1,000x more gadolinium, but this would now be seen as to toxic. Enter IBX iron oxide which has over 1,000x better sensitivity to magnetic field than gadolinium, so problem now solved to match the image resolution of the big monster.
These new MRI are not that portable but on wheels so they can be moved around wards and they come at a 20th the price of the bigger version.(someone posted article on this forum showing pictures and details of this portable device, having trouble re finding it, would like to know who it was) There are about 50,000 bigger MRI in use worldwide and it seems very probable they to will switch to using the iron oxide with these, but the smaller units been so much cheaper will quickly sell in bigger volumes so increasing IBX revenues more. Bob has reiterated twice that their real end game is to provide a small handheld MRX device for office use and these to will be so much cheaper than their present imaging machine priced at $500000. Again the opportunity to sell bigger volumes of hand held devices to market and the ink income starts to become exponential, And remember the office device will have to come with licensed software for your PC to operate with it, even more revenues.
(Research, design and development is happening to get the miniature magnetic sensors required to make these hand held device - IBX announcement)
