Unfortunately this trial provides no functional benefit for the trial subjects as they have already been diagnosed with cancer at a somewhat advanced stage.
We know option b is not motivation enough for a large portion of the subject population.
As a general rule in understanding people's action, always place self-interest as the number 1 motivation. Always. Unfortunately, up this point it appears IBX has placed too much faith in people volunteering solely for the good of future patients.
