Been holding a good chunk of IBX heads and OAs for a few years now. Seeing it hit 20c was cool, but watching it drop back to here was not. Sold a few on the way down, but buying back in at these levels when I have the funds.
As with any stock, I always re-evaluate why I'm still here. My take:
Red Flags
Management no skin in the game (aside from a healthy sum of options I believe). Not a massive deal but still a deal.
Delays due to requisites of the trial (injection, biopsy regardless, no compensation as far as I'm aware).
Share price decrease. Although this could apply to any ticker in the current environment.
Green Flags
The technology is game changing. If it works (seems likely, see below), targeted, high resolution, non-toxic and definitive imagery for detecting a variety of cancers. Blows current imaging methods out of the water. Provided it works.
Current trial still running. Yes it's delayed. But so far 'multiple patients' enrolled. You could take a glass half full/half emply view on this. I opt for the former.
Were recently advertising the bottled nanoparticles, so therefore obviously confident in the product.
Have been looking to hire specialised staff in recent months.
Have established a new premises in the US (production). Definitely not signs that the company do not believe in the product, and it's future potential.
Once proven in breast cancer, company have plans to prove in other forms of cancer. I think once this initial hurdled is overcome, the other hurdles should be easier.
So if I'm reading between the lines correctly, IBX will soon (biotech time) be proving the IP. Conclusion: rather be in than out.
