Yes the power station turns biomass into a lot of CO2. So do forests.
In both cases assume the source of biomass is replenished at the rate it's consumed.
Then an equal amount of CO2 is being pulled from the atmosphere to grow that biomass and thus the whole cycle is carbon neutral. (Ignoring other inputs such as transportation.)
The same when forests are burned then regrow.
So the real question for the power station is: Have they implemented measures to grow the biomass at the same rate as its consumption?
