As you seek the truth on EV sales, you have to be careful to ascertain the definition of EVs and “hybrids” being used. I have seen mild fake hybrids being called simply “hybrids” and charts with these “hybrids” suggesting a fake story. Mild Fake Hybrids use no more and possibly less NdFeB than any pure ICE vehicle. They are a nothing burger with respect to magnet metals or REE demand. The only hybrids that a Lynas investor should include with BEV or “pure EV” sales are generally referred to as PHEVs or Plug-in hybrids. Only those require NdFeB magnets. Any true hybrids require hybrid drive capability ; long and strong electric-only drive, not simply launch assist which can be done with an upgraded ferrite starter motor.
