Yes, that would have been to limit warming to a lower amount than 1.5 degC. Obviously in 30 years we did not do enough so we have already seen some warming since then.
You probably find it funny because you will probably die before climate change impacts you personally, but your kids and grandkids will live with the consequences. Or who knows, maybe if things progress according to the worst case scenario you may see the effects with your own eyes (although I doubt you will believe it if you see it).
