I am fairly sure that when I looked for the mid-year announcement on 19/02/2014, Westpac Online Investment had it slated for today, 20/02/2014. When I checked today, the information was missing. I understand that another poster had the same experience with COMSEC.

The bidding at yesterday's pre-opening was bizarre, with many bids way over the offer-to-sell price, so I imagined this is how such folk ensure that they get shares at the opening price. If many of these were day traders with no money who hoped to exit a few hours later when the report became available, they would have needed to exit with speed. I am not a trader, so I am unqualified to make this postulation.

The mid-year report is unlikely to be ugly - it will be the reverse, thanks to the Samsung contract for the earthworks of the Roy Hill railway line.
