interim results due friday, page-18

Well here we are, I usually don't hold going into earnings season but I am here.

The best outcome IMO for tomorrow;

Liquer sales up 15%
Fuel up 4%
Groceries up 5%
Kmart/Dick Smith flat.
Hotels Flat

NPAT up 7%
Int div 56cff.

Woolies has kept margins with moderate market share in the interests for shareholders lately.
This may change in the future to reduce margins and gain market share to compete with coles more aggresively. They have the room to move if need be but I guess it's a balance WOW has managed through a tough environment.

If something close to the above results are announced on a weak market day a more positive SP could be expected as there will be less opportunities for the hot money to go long.

These figures are only guesses from the top of my head and only meant for indicative uses only.
Yesterday's Short sales were 7.2% with 0.16% cumulative so if weak figures are announced there is a possible short squeeze pop to get out safely.
