Other potential inclusions include Orocobre, Ooh!Media, Infigen Energy, Galaxy Resources and Resolute Mining, while potential exclusions include Select Harvests, Mesoblast, Austal, Village Roadshow and Cover-More Group.
“Over the past nine years, inclusions have outperformed the S&P/ASX 200 by 4.4% for the period 20 days prior to announcement,” the broker says. “By shorting the exclusion (and long additions) the long/short return over the same period would have been 9.1%, with an 81% success rate of outperformance over the 38 rebalance periods measured.”
