How true How true - my old man is the same. "I can't afford to pay the tax". Little do they know that if they sold now and bought back at 30% lower they will have actually payed the tax owing and have bought the share back with a fistfull of cash still in their hands leftover at the end of it. NAB was a great example. I was trying to get my old man drop all of his at $34 and buy back in the $28 area for this purpose - now the opportunity is lost.
