World war combatants were displaying hatred for one another, not love.

The problem with utter Biblical literalism is that it removes from the individual a proper state of reasoning and common sense. The Bible was not written for idiots, but it is in most cases interpreted by idiots.

The individual must forgive, they do not have the right of revenge for the sake of individual justice, the society on the other hand in the pursuit of justice has the right under certain circumstances to use force to maintain law and order.

Say for example a group of Neo-Nazis were beating up a peaceful group of Jehovah Witness, firstly, would the Jehovah Witness defend themselves? Secondly even though Jehovah Witness imagine themselves as being apart from society the rest of us see through this nonsense and would come to your aid out of a sense of justice. Violence would occur to uphold justice and this is the foundation of everything Christ stood for. Turn the cheek as an individual, fight for justice as a society.

Now had the world not stood up to Hitler your religion may not exist. It was love of justice and the societies people came from that gave them the strength to fight Nazism. So the hatred was permissible when it was directed at a regime such as the Nazis and such hatred was tempered by the love of democracy and the society that was being crushed by these demons.

To not have defended against the Nazis would have been a mortal sin against Christ. You may have noticed that once the Nazis were conquered that a great effort swung into action to feed the German peoples and support them to rebuild their lives by the very same people who fought the Nazis. So love was never absent, it just needed the removal of the Nazis as an act of justice no doubt sanctioned by God Himself and love returned very quickly once they were gone.

So the next time you speak for Jesus have a little think before you do so and see if Mr Gordon might have a bit more common sense that the literal rubbish your religion tries to propagate.
