OCTOBER 9, 2020 RUSSIA Russian Court Convicts Young Couple, Issues Suspended Prison Sentences
On October 9, 2020, the Sverdlovskiy District Court of the city of Kostroma convicted Brother Sergey Rayman and his wife, Valeriya. They were issued suspended prison sentences of eight and seven years respectively. These are the lengthiest suspended sentences imposed on our brothers and sisters in Russia since the 2017 Supreme Court ruling. Brother and Sister Rayman will not need to go to prison at this time.

On February 26, 2021, the Kostroma Regional Court upheld the October 2020 conviction of Brother Sergey Rayman and his wife, Valeriya. But the court shortened the length of their sentences. Sergey’s suspended prison term was reduced from eight to three years, and Valeriya’s was reduced from seven to two years. They do not have to go to prison at this time.
