Could be a hobby, a daily laugh, a personal vendetta, or enjoying relationships built up on HC with people who respond to his posts, or perhaps he is actually a brickie. I suspect he mainly hangs around for a laugh, which is what he claims. Maybe he just can't stop because he's a real Trooper.
