One reason I have not looked to go over to Europe as much as I would like to is the long travel distance and cost
I have wanted to go to METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) in Amsterdam and finally I am seriously considering going this year so just checked air fares.
Well I was quite surprised, I can get a return fare for $975 though that require a bit of a long stop over in Singapore so total travel time 30 hours. How ever for $1350 I can get flights with only 21 hours travel time, dare say it's worth paying the extra for the shorter travel time.
This makes our domestic flight look rather expensive. I have just booked a return flight Sydney from Perth and that cost me $720, return flight to Brisbane back in May cost the same. Can get some cheaper flights but with the extras it's not that much cheap, hence I usually only fly with Qantas for domestic travel
