Here is another link to an empirical 17 year study of PSAR versus other Technical Indicators on the S&P 500, which concluded, and I am paraphrasing here, 'PSAR method results domonstrate statistical significance at a 95% confidence level, and is far more adept at positioning a trader long or short, and by using the PSAR as the buy and sell signal, a trader will significantly outperform the market' which may or may not be of assistance to you. cheers
