This is how stupid Australians can be, around 1982 a group of Japanese “businessmen” came to Melbourne to have a look through the commonwealth serum laboratories aka CSL. They took great interest in the Penicillin plant, taking notes and photographs with much information gleefully given by the staff. Go forward two years and the Japanese have a Penicillin plant, more modern and smaller with four times the output of CSL....the businessmen were mainly engineers and biologists. Who let the fox into the hen house? If it was not for western technology the Chinese would be still relying on black powder and bows and arrows. Look what financial greed and stupidity have done, we built the machine of our own destruction right on our own doorstep.
