I use IE11 on Win10 without any problems at all. I used to use Firefox until it stopped support. Whatever the problem you have its not because IE11 doesn't run IRESS. You have another conflict somewhere. If its important I'd try a fresh install of yr OS, install java and get IRESS running as a a priority before anything else.
